Bile duct injury: multicentric experience in Bogotá

Project Details

Description

Iatrogenic lesions of the bile duct are one of the most serious complications after open or laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The incidence worldwide is 0.2 to 0.4% (2.5-6 - 8, 10) and its impact on quality of life is high mainly due to biliary stenosis and cholangitis.
This study aims to describe the postoperative results in terms of morbidity and mortality in the population of patients who were taken to bile duct reconstruction in four health institutions in Bogotá-Colombia, between 2014 and 2020.
