Description
Introduction: Pulmonary embolism is a common and often fatal condition. Knowledge regarding its epidemiology in Colombia remains limited, and there are no updated studies assessing its presentation and progression in hospital settings.
Methodology: A descriptive study of cases identified in the registry of patients with acute thrombotic pulmonary embolism at Hospital Universitario Mayor, Bogotá – EPHUM [Ethics Committee Approval CEISH-2024049] between 2024 and 2025. Demographic variables, baseline clinical characteristics, targeted treatments, and in-hospital clinical outcomes will be described using absolute and relative frequencies, as well as measures of dispersion and central tendency.
