Sangrado secundario a biopsias transbronquiales e hipertensión pulmonar: Estudio transversal en un hospital de alta complejidad a 2600msnm.

Project Details

Description

Bronchoscopy is a common diagnostic and therapeutic procedure used to examine the airways in a minimally invasive way. Although it is traditionally believed that patients with pulmonary hypertension may have a higher risk of complications associated with bronchoscopy, particularly if transbronchial lung biopsy is performed, it's not clear that this procedure increases the risk of bleeding in patients with pulmonary hypertension.
This work aims to compare the frequency of bleeding in transbronchial biopsies in patients with pulmonary
hypertension and patients without pulmonary hypertension from the Méderi hospital network in Bogotá.

Key findings

: It is expected to increase the level of knowledge about the safety of these endoscopic
procedures and their relationship with the risk of pulmonary hypertension, which is not clearly known, but is
considered a contraindication. The results will be disclosed to the institution and the medical community,
through institutional groups and as a written publication of the final document.
