Abstract

In November 2023, the XI Bioethics Conference of Clínica Colsanitas was held, within the framework of this event the presentation was made: from this intervention the following document emerges that has to do with the beginning of life, the limit of viability of newborns. On November 17, the International Day of Prematurity is celebrated, it is a topic of vital importance if one takes into account that the World Health Organization (WHO) (2023), concluded that in the last decade 1,520,000,000 were born, that is, that 1 in 10 births in the world are premature and, most alarmingly, one of them dies every 40 seconds around the world. This conference shows the importance of health teams in Neonatal Units at the moment of decision-making from bioe-thics, from the Colombian and global context at the limit of viability.
